The Bard’s beloved comedy “Twelfth Night” is about to bestow an evening of laughter, romance and revelry on Sun Valley residents and guests.
This year’s Sun Valley Shakespeare in the Park will take part in a new location. After 21 years in Ketchum’s Forest Service Park, the thespians are moving to Rotary Park.
The new location on Warm Springs Road across from the Wood River YMCA will allow thespians to stage plays without having to enunciate over the music emanating from the patio of the Limelight Hotel.
“Twelfth Night,” directed by returning director Colton Pometta of New York City, is set in the enchanting world of Illyria. It follows the adventures of Viola, a shipwrecked young woman who disguises herself as a man.
She finds herself entangled in a web of hilarious situations as she navigates the comical chaos of mistaken identities and unrequited love.
The play features professional actors from New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, in addition to local actors.
The play launches at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 and continues Aug. 11-13, 15-16 and 18-19. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students 18 and under, available at www.laughingstocktheater.com.
