Now that we’re less than a hundred days away from the start of the 2023-24 ski season at Sun Valley Resort, it’s time to think ahead to the Sun Valley Winter Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
The Center for Regional History is taking nominations through Thursday, Aug. 31.
Honorees should have excelled in alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ice hockey, figure skating, snowboarding or freestyle skiing and given back to the Wood River Valley community.
“The Wood River Valley community has supported and nurtured a depth of sports achievement that the Center for Regional History is proud to highlight. It is a great tradition that connects people to each other around sports. It connects young athletes to the legends that came before them,” said Mary Tyson, director of the Center for Regional History.
Past inductees to the Sun Valley Winter Sports Hall of Fame include such luminaries as Picabo Street, Don and Gretchen Fraser, Sigi Engl, Muffy Davis, Jack Simpson, Herman Maricich, Dick Dorworth, W. Averell Harriman, Lisa-Marie Allen, Jim Savaria, Doran Key, Rick Kapala, and Bob Rosso.
