The 5 Bee Quilter’s Guild has stitched together a new quilt to raise money for its community projects.
This one features sheep—each with different quilt patterns—in keeping with the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in early October. And there’s not a single black sheep in the bunch.
Raffle tickets cost $5 each and can be bought at the Wood River Farmers Markets, at the Trailing of the Sheep Festival and from quilt guild members.
Last year’s quilt raised $1,000 for Bellevue Library.
“There’s no place to for kids to go in Bellevue so they all go the library,” said Maggie Schmid.
The library, by the way, will continue to receive funding from the city. The Bellevue City Council voted to continue its funding, rather than slash its budget, after 70 peaceful protesters showed up at a read-in in support of the library.
