Hit a few golf balls so Wood River Valley kids can hit a few baseballs.
Signups are being taken for the annual James Nelson Memorial Golf Tournament with proceeds benefitting the Wood River Baseball Association.
The tournament will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at Sun Valley Resort’s Trail Creek Golf Course, and it’s open to the public.
Silent auction items will include a 15-day ski pass, one-night stay at The Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, 50-minute massage at Zenergy Health Club and Spa, family portrait sessions, gift baskets, custom cakes and family passes to local attractions.
Prices are $175 for adults and $120 for youth, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Teams of four will compete in a scramble format. Total cost for an adult team is $700, and $480 for youths 15 and under. There is also a golf attire costume contest. Register by Oct. 7 to play.
WRBA is also seeking hole sponsors for $150. Anyone looking to golf or sponsor a hole can email info@woodriverbaseball.com.
“There are many reasons to enjoy a game of golf, especially when it benefits local kid’s youth programs,” said Dustin Stone, WRBA board member. “Wood River Baseball is more than just the sport; it teaches the players about being a part of a team, building character and the love for America’s favorite past-time.”
