If Sun Valley’s first significant snowstorm of the season has got you salivating for carving turns, you’re in luck.
The Argyros is offering a pre-season appetizer in the form of Teton Gravity Research’s new 90-minute action-packed ski and snowboard film: “Legend Has It.”
The name is based on the idea that stories shared on the chairlifts or over a beer become the stuff of legend, whether they be about mythical storm cycles, heroic feats or hidden powder stashes.
“Legend Has It” will be shown twice: At 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.
Tickets are $12 purchased in advance at https://theargyros.org/calendar/tgr-legend-has-it/ or https://theargyros.org/calendar/tgr-legend-has-it-2/. They’re $15 the day of the show.
The Jackson, Wyo.-based Teton Gravity Research has been trotting some of the sport’s best athletes to incredible locations around the world for 28 years, following in the ski tracks of Warren Miller and Dick Barrymore.
“Legend Has It” features skiing in such breath-taking vistas as Patagonia, the California Sierra, the Karakoram in Pakistan, the Chugach Mountains of Alaska, the Colorado backcountry and Jackson Hole during record-breaking storm cycles in California and the Tetons.
Featured skiers include Kai Jones, Ian Mcintosh, Nick McNutt, Parkin Costain, Griffin Post, Janelle Yip, Jeremy Jones and Tim Durtschi.
