A coven of witches formed a circle around a cauldron of Kit Kats and M&Ms, as they do every year.
A half-dozen Wednesday Addams took to the streets. And even dogs showed up in their Halloween best—as lions, frogs, dolphins and, yes, hot dogs, as the Wood River Valley turned out for its annual Halloween Hoopla Tuesday afternoon.
The Senior Connection kicked off the festivities while the morning was still young with a pizza party in which seniors were invited to dress up.
Tewa Evans and Joy Robbins turned out as the Happy Witches, while Grant Swindle and Nathan Lago turned out as a Ghostbuster and Beetlejuice.
“I think it’s great when adults get to dress up and not let kids have all the fun,” said Judy Wampler.
With the temperature hovering around 50 it could not have been a more perfect afternoon for trick or treating.
Unless, of course you were Steven Crabb, wearing a onesie that resembled a fireplace.
Scout, a 14-week cavalier poodle bichon mix took in his first Halloween, and he was all eyes, thanks to his mother—assistant nurse Karen Stevens—crowning him with an extra set of frog eyes.
“He seems content,” she said, “Like he’s taking it all in.”
