The Sun Valley Film Festival is hosting a complimentary SVFF Special Screening of the film “Killers of the Flower Moon” at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Sun Valley Opera House.
The free community event is being held in collaboration with Apple Original Films and in partnership with Ketchum’s Community Library. And it will include complimentary wine and other beverages, thanks to a generous patron.
The film offers the community to an opportunity to witness an exemplary piece of filmmaking garnering critical acclaim and award-season buzz, said Candice Pate, Sun Valley Film Festival director.
“Our cooperative effort shines a light on our shared mission to enrich the cultural fabric of our community," said Pate. “Through this SVFF Special Screening, our organizations highlight the significance of narrative arts and community engagement in fostering a vibrant, story-rich environment.”
"Killers of the Flower Moon" is directed by Martin Scorsese and features a star-studded ensemble including Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert DeNiro. The Oscar potential powerhouse is seen as a strong contender for the prestigious Big Five Oscars – Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Screenplay.
Based on David Grann’s bestselling book, it tells the story of the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation in Oklahoma after oil was discovered underneath their land.
