Take a quick trip through social change when Mary Ann Allison presents “A Time Traveler’s Guide to Social Change” at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
The evening will take participants on a journey from past to future as she attempts to help participants navigate society’s faster pace, divisions and increasing complexity with confidence and creativity.
As founding principal of the Allison Group, Allison has spent her career helping individuals and organizations be powerful in periods of rapid social change using research that is peer-reviewed and field tested.
A member of the Idaho Humanities Council, she has written several books focusing on societal and community evolution. Her works include “Managing Up, Managing Down” and “The Complexity Advantage,” which explains managerial methods to increase efficiency and creativity. It was inspired by Citicorp’s turnaround in which the company used a new management tool to thwart growing international competition send profits rising and reducing debt.
