Tickets go on sale today for the Sun Valley Museum of Art’s 2024 Singer-Songwriter Salon Series.
This year’s lineup features a trio, a duo and a single:
- LAURA CORTESE & THE DANCE CARDS—7:30 p.m. WEDNESDAY, Jan. 18, at The Argyros.
Cortese, who lives in Ghent, Belgium, co-founded the Boston Celtic Music Festival and Miles of Music Camp to bring together folk musicians with contemporary songwriters.
The trio that plays with Cortese includes Valerie Thompson on cello, Aoife O’Donovan on guitar/fiddle and Isa Burke. Think: folk music rich in harmony and inspired by Cajun two-stepping and rock ‘n’ roll swagger.
- AN EVENING WITH BRETT DENNEN—7:30 p.m. THURSDAY, Feb. 8 at The Argyros
The singer-songwriter is in his seventh year of touring what he considers the country’s bet ski towns. He has played at Austin City Limits, Newport Folk and Telluride Bluegrass Festival and appeared on a handful of late night talk shows.
- FREDDY & FRANCINE—7:30 p.m., WEDNESDAY, March 13, at The Argyros
The husband-and-wife singer-songwriters perform energetic music that hints at but is not confined to folk and Americana music. They have performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and opened for Big Head Todd & the Monsters.
