Sun Valley Resort had its Pray for Snow Party. Now, the situation’s getting dire enough that Soldier Mountain is chiming in, too.
Soldier Mountain, which wants to open Dec. 8 snow permitting, is hosting a party at 5 p.m. tonight--Saturday, Dec. 2--at the ski area on Soldier Creek Road 11 miles north of Fairfield. Country-western singer/songwriter Colt Angell will perform and there will be a bonfire with door prizes and games, along with free baked potatoes, chili and Falls Brand sausages, courtesy of independent Meat Co.
The ski area is also offering a one-day-only $50 discount on season passes at Saturday’s party. Passholders must attend the event in person to receive the discount. Without the discount, season passes cost $499 for adults, $299 for youth 7-17, $399 for military adults, $218 for military youth and $199 for seniors 70 and older. Children 0-6 ski and board free.
