A retired nurse who served the valley before there was St. Luke’s Wood River will share her story of surviving and healing after she had a stroke in early 2023.
Kathy Noyes will discuss the challenges of her recovery and how this experience is influencing her as she looks forward to continuing a full and satisfying life at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the conference room at the Wood River YMCA in Ketchum.
Noyes worked at the Moritz Community Hospital in Sun Valley and then at the Hailey Hospital. She supported her husband Bobby Noyes, as he served as a coach in the early days of Wood River Valley hockey and headed up such events as the popular Paw n’ Pole Nordic event for families and man’s best friend.
The couple have two adult children.
Noyes credits her family and friends for helping her stay motivated to do the hard work of rehabilitation and healing.
Wednesday’s talk is one in a series of Mind Over Matter presentations organized by Anita Dromey Speech Therapy.
