Annette Benning and David O. Russell will be honored with the Sun Valley Film Festival’s Vision Awards during the upcoming film festival Feb. 28-March 3.
They also will take part in the popular free Coffee Talks open to the public, during which they will discuss their careers and field questions from the audience.
The SVFF Vision Awards honor industry icons whose contributions have changed the cinema industry for the better.
Bening has starred in a multitude of critically acclaimed feature films, including her role as swimmer Diana Nyad in “Nyad,” for which she received a SAG Award Best Actress nomination. Her film credits include “Death on the Nile, “The Kids Are Alright,” “American Beauty,” “The American President,” “The Grifters” and “Bugsy.”
She is a Tony Award winner, a four-time Academy Award nominee and a two-time Golden Globe and SAG Award winner. She recently earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons,” and she will be seen next in “Poolman” alongside Danny DeVito.
David O. Russell is considered a visionary film writer, director and producer. His works include “Three Kings,” “American Hustle,” “I Heart Huckabees,” “The Fighter,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Flirting with Disaster” and “Spanking the Monkey.”
He has won dozens of industry awards, including two BAFTA Awards and four Independent Spirit Awards. And he’s been nominated for five Academy Awards and four Golden Globes.
Previous SVFF honorees have included Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Aaron Paul, Liv Schreiber and Woody Harrelson.
