The Wood River Trail Challenge is on, despite this year’s low snowpack.
The Blaine County Recreation District is challenging the community to ski, walk, snowshoe or fat bike the entire 32 kilometers of the Wood River Trail from Hulen Meadows in Ketchum to Gannett Road in Bellevue between Jan. 26 and Feb. 23.
You can do it all in one day or break it up into sections and complete the challenge over four weeks. Finishers will receive a prize from BCRD and be entered in a drawing to win a 2024-25 BCRD Nordic season pass.
The idea is to engage in a healthy, enjoyable outdoor activity this winter, said Jeremy Greenberg, communications manager for the BCRD.
The Wood River Trial is a 32K multi-use, year-round path providing a non-motorized connection between Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey and Bellevue. BCRD grooms the trail in winter when snow allows. No trail passes are needed to use it.
