The Papoose Club will hold its annual Nordic Cup 2024 kids race on Sunday, Feb. 18.
And, in addition to wanting kids to join in the fun, the club is looking for volunteers to help herd the racers, hand out refreshments and all that fun stuff.
Races will start at 10 a.m. at Quigley Nordic Center. The ski area east of Hailey got a shot in the arm from the last snow cycle that brought some much needed snow to the Wood River Valley.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
The Nordic Cup—the Nordic equivalent of the long-running Kindercup—was first run in 2006. It is open to kids 13 and under.
Kids can race using classic and skating techniques. There will be an obstacle course, refreshments and prizes. Costumes are encouraged—it is, after all, all about fun.
The Nordic Cup is sponsored by Windermere Real Estate, Webb, Eye on Sun Valley, G&C, Davis Embroidery, Zenergy, Pioneer Title Company, Sun Valley Title, Idaho Lumber, Native, St. Luke’s Wood River, Oasis Stop n’ Go and Stinker.
