Two of opera’s brightest shining young stars will come together to sing the roles of the world’s most famous star-crossed lovers when the Metropolitan Opera presents its Live Simulcast of “Romeo et Juliette” on Saturday.
The screening will take place at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Magic Lantern Cinemas in Ketchum and will include a backstage look at the set and props, along with interviews with the cast. Magic Lantern is a cash-only business.
The simulcast will feature soprano Nadine Sierra and tenor Benjamin Bernheim as Shakespeare’s Juliet ad Romeo. Met Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin will conduct the romantic score.
Bartlett Sher’s staging also features baritone Will Liverman and tenor Frederick Ballentine as the archrivals Mercutio and Tybalt, mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey as the mischievous pageboy Stephano and bass-baritone Alfred Walker as Frere Laurent.
The screening is presented by Sun Valley Opera and Broadway in partnership with Magic Lantern Cinemas.
