In 1988 Bobby McFerrin’s song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” hit No. 1 on the pop charts and won Song of the Year and Record of the Year the following year at the Grammy Awards.
McFerrin has also written a moving rendition of Psalm 23 as a tribute to his mother who died just before the COVID pandemic erupted.
Joel Bejot, the music director at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and a special men’s ensemble will perform this unique retelling of the Psalm that touts “The Lord is my Shepherd,” during the church’s Sunday morning service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 12.
It will be accompanied by the Magnificat for men’s choir.
The community is invited.
