The Caritas Chorale will present “On the Sunny Side,” a spring concert filled with visions of bright yellow daffodils and rainbows, on May 18 and 19.
The free concerts will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
As you might expect, the songs will include Jimmy McHugh’s “On the Sunny Side of the Street.” Other songs are Britten’s “Five Flower Songs,” James Mulholland’s “Loveliest of Trees,” John Rutter’s “For the Beauty of the Earth,” Copland’s “Stomp Your Foot” and Keith Christopher’s “Let Us All Sing.”
Rounding out the program are “Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit” by William Dawson, “Make Our Garden Grow” by Leonard Bernstein, “Always Something Sings” by Dan Forrest and “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” by Eric Idle.
The concert will be led by the chorale’s artistic director R.L. Rowsey and the chorale’s assistant artistic director Joel Bejot.
“We continue to be honored to be a part of the rich musical fabric of this wonderful community,” said Rowsey. “The gift of coming together to learn and share this delightful music mean the world to us.”
