The efforts of Wood River Middle School students are going to the dogs.
WRMS’s 6th, 7th and 8th grade Leadership students recently held a Spring Fling Carnival, earmarking their proceeds for Mountain Humane animal shelter.
Two-legged creatures weren’t the only ones enjoying the carnival games and other attractions. Mountain Humane brought a slew of puppies who had the opportunity to interact with the students. One puppy even went home with a new adoptive family.
The event raised $1,000 for Mountain Humane, demonstrating for members of the Leadership Class yet another way that they can be proactive contributors to their community.
“WRMS Leadership students are extremely dedicated, motivated, and focused on achieving every single school goal they establish for themselves,” said Aleksandra Sibrian, Leadership and GATE Teacher at WRMS. “It was the students' idea to organize a fundraiser specifically for Mountain Humane, as they wanted to recognize all their hard work and dedication to the animals and our community.”
