Single-event tickets for the 30th annual Sun Valley Writers’ Conference are now on sale.
Speakers include 2024 Writer in the World prize recipient Margaret Atwood in conversation with Ayad Akhtar, the legendary Judy Blume speaking with her friend Jeffrey Brown of the PBS NewsHour, Irish-born poet Paul Muldoon giving a poetry reading and renowned historian Niall Ferguson talking to journalist Evan Osnos about the complicated legacy of Henry Kissinger.
Others include Erik Larson discussing his enthralling account of the Civil War in “The Demon of Unrest,” and the beloved Anne Lamott closing out the 30th Anniversary with the Frank McCourt Memorial Lecture, touching on faith and family and loss and love.
Single event tickets will also be available for a panel discussion, “On the Frontlines of Chaos, which will feature Niall Ferguson, David Miliband, Clarissa Ward and be moderated by Jeffrey Goldberg. This panel will offer an “honest and illuminating conversation about the root causes of recent wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, the humanitarian crises that they have sparked, and what the West should and can do to relieve them.”
The presentations will be held in the Sun Valley Pavilion. Tickets are $35 each, available at https://svwc.com/single-event-tickets. Wood River Valley teachers and students may attend Pavilion talks for free, as long as there’s room.
