STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

It wasn’t the new stoplight at Ohio Gulch that snarled traffic on the morning commute this week. It was the sheep.

Sheep have been trailing through the Wood River Valley up Buttercup Road and through Ketchum using Second Avenue and parts of the bike path this week as they enter grazing allotments at Adams Gulch and graze their way towards the Lake Creek Trailhead.

Ashley Knox, who prepares the Trail Report for the Blaine County Recreation District, said John Faulkner’s sheep may trail through Ketchum July 1-3. Or they may wait until the July 4 hubbub settles down.

Currently sheep are grazing in the Willow Creek, Limekiln, Deer Creek and Cove Creek areas.
