Now you can revel in the unmatched experience of driving a Porsche without actually owning one.
Moment, a new luxury vehicle rental and detail business, is holding its Grand Opening Celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at 960 S. Main St. in Hailey. The ribbon cutting will take place at 1 p.m. The Wood River Sustainability Center will serve food and beverage during the open house.
The store will cater to those who want to rent a Porsche for a day or more, and it will cater to those who want their car buffed out, said General Manager Barry Bevers.
“The owners are longtime valley seasonal residents with Porsche and Audi dealerships in Beaverton, Ore. They had a vision to bring an elevated rental service to the valley and decided the time was right,” said Bevers. “There are other operators in the United States who provide rentals like this but it’s not real prominent.”
Renters will be available to avail themselves of 2023 and 2024 Porsche Cayennes, Audis and a few other cars. The shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week for those wishing detail work. Renters taking early flights out of Friedman Memorial Airport will be able to return cars as early as 5 in the morning and the shop will be able to provide rentals for those coming in on the 9:30 p.m. Delta flight.
Bevers worked for 20 years as general manager of the Valley Club before taking a year-long club job in Hawaii. But he and his wife kept their home in the Wood River Valley, always intending to return. And he couldn’t say no when Larry and Karen Feiner shared their vision for Moment with him.
“We just hope people will stop in on Saturday and check out our new facility,” he said. “The detail base and infrastructure on the inside is state of the art. It’s just a beautiful facility.”
