Tired of street closures in Ketchum?
Well, they’re closing down another street….but you’ll like this one!
The Sun Valley Museum of Art is closing down the street in front of The Museum from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, for its annual street party.
There’ll be live music provided by the Beverly Lovers comprised of Aly Wepplo and David Janeski. And the Los Angeles-based dance company Bodytraffic will do a special pop-up performance at 5:45 p.m. (The group which performed at The Argyros last year will return with a new program July 13 and 14.)
Meanwhile, art lovers can duck out of the sun to see the Museum’s new exhibitions featuring internationally renowned photographer Tina Barney’s pictures of Sun Valley taken between 1976 and 1980. Barney took the pictures with a Pentax 35mm camera while taking photography classes at what was then the Sun Valley Center for the Arts. They document the daily life and activities of friends and family at weddings and at a ski race.
Also showing: Rob Davis: Record. The Virginia native has spent the past six years making paintings that mine his childhood memories during the period from 5 to 8 years old, which is considered a time of magical thinking among children.
The Museum is located at 191 Fifth Street East in Ketchum.
