The Idaho Transportation Department will begin seal coating parts of Idaho 75 in the Wood River Valley and Highway 21 in the Stanley area as early as Monday, July 29.
The seal coating will affect 2.82 miles of Highway 75 in the Ohio Gulch area north of Hailey, 11.56 miles of Highway 75 in the Galena area and .41 miles of Highway 21 in Stanley. Seal coating will begin in Stanley, move to the Galena area and finish up in the Ohio Gulch area through the month of August.
Lane closures will be in effect while crews work on each section. A pilot car will be in place to guide traffic. Drivers should expect delays. Work should be completed by the beginning of September.
Seal coating is performed to extend the life of a pavement, providing a water-resistance surface to mitigate the amount of damage done by weather.
