Maria De Los Angeles, a Mexican-born, American artist will discuss her work in a free talk at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Sun Valley Museum of Art, 191 5th St. E. in Ketchum.
The talk is free.
De Los Angeles is a nationally known artist who addresses ideas of migration, belonging and identity through her drawing, painting, printmaking and wearable sculptures.
She is in the Wood River Valley leading bilingual teen and community workshops in preparation for her participation in an exhibition at The Museum next year.
She will lead a free Bilingual Community Workshop for those of all ages using textiles from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Hailey Classroom, 2nd and Pine Streets. Register at https://svmoa.org/events/community/2024-08-10/bilingual-community-workshop-
A second community workshop will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at The Hunger Coalition in Bellevue. No registration is needed for the second workshop.
