What can be more delightful than walking among the blooms, a glass of wine in hand?!

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is throwing its annual Walk & Wine party from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. The relaxing evening will include the opportunity to stroll through the late summer gardens at your pace while enjoying paired appetizers and wine stations.

Live music will be provided, along with a chance to learn about the garden’s growing collection of fine art sculptures.

Those who have attended in the past have called it one of their favorite events of the summer—an opportunity to relax after the busy, hectic summer while greeting old friends and making new ones.

One woman found that the garden aimed to please when she got a call shortly after buying her tickets to Walk & Wine: “Are you the woman whose husband always wears a cowboy hat and prefers beer to wine?” asked the caller on the other end. “Well, we just wanted to find out what his favorite beer is so we can have it for him that night.”

His favorite beer, if you’re wondering, is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale so you may just see it on your Walk and Wine.

Tickets are $100 per person with the money going to the upkeep of the garden, which hosts gardens featuring the native plants that grow in the Sun Valley area from alpine mountain flowers to desert flowers found amidst the lava.

The garden also provides a variety of other activities throughout the year, including Garden of Infinite Compassion tours at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays through Aug. 24, to the Medicinal Herbs Plant Walk scheduled for Aug. 24.
