John Boydston snapped this photograph of some of what appeared to be two faces talking with one another…or even a man’s legs hanging out of a cloud over Ketchum Sunday night.
“It didn’t last long, but it speaks to me,” said Boydston. “See the face profile? My first thought was Abe Lincoln, like on the penny. No wonder they watched the sky for news in ancient times.”
After the clouds formed, Ketchum experienced a downpour about 6:30 p.m. that lasted for 15 minutes and left the Main Street road construction project muddy. About 8 p.m. the sky turned yellow and some exceedingly wicked looking clouds formed again.
A lightning storm preceded yet another rainstorm in the Ketchum area about 9 p.m. Hailey got less rain and residents south of Bellevue said they received nada.
Once the storm rolled through, the full moon came out—a little orange, even though a rare super blue moon was forecast Monday night. Britons reported their supermoon was orange and red, as well, thanks to smoke from North American wildfires.
