The Magic Valley will commemorate 9/11 by stringing a mega-flag across the Snake River Canyon near the Perrine Bridge at the entryway to Twin Falls.
This year’s annual community event is different as the city will be unfurling its very own flag for the first time, rather than having one brought in.
The event will start at 6 p.m. near the Twin Falls Visitor Center. There will be a U.S. Air Force flyover, a 21-gun salute, and Armed Forces display followed by music by the Heath Clark Band. Food vendors will be on site.
The flight team will be made up of Magic Valley S.O.R.T., Twin Falls County Search and Rescue and the Twin Falls Fire Department.
The event started with a Flag Reveal during the Twin Falls High School homecoming game on Friday. There will be a Flag Walk with bands on the bridge from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The events are being sponsored by the City of Twin Falls and the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce.
