The Papoose Club is inviting the community to an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at La Cabanita, 115 S. Main St.
The organization, which welcomed men into its folds a few years ago, will offer up drinks and appetizers while sharing about its purpose and the local organizations it supports.
The Papoose Club was founded 70 years ago in 1954. Its Kindercup on Dollar Mountain has become a rite of passage for young skiers of the Wood River Valley, and recently it has begun offering a fun Nordic Cup for youngsters of all abilities at Quigley Nordic.
Its main focus is helping to fund the projects of organizations providing educational, social, cultural and athletic activities for the youth of Blaine County. Members raise the money through their annual Wagon Days Pancake Breakfast, Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar and Plant Sale at Webb Nursery.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the non-profit 501©3 organization, as well.
