Three popular English language learning classes are returning to the Hailey Public Library this fall after a summer break.
The classes are free and drop-ins are welcome.
Intercambio, informal English/Spanish language exchange for intermediate speakers wanting to practice everyday conversations skills, is being offered from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Hailey Public Library.
Tutoria, a one-on-one or small group tutoring opportunity, is offered from 5 to 6 p.m. Fridays at Hailey’s Town Center West, 116 S. River St.
Conversacion de Ingles, taught by bilingual learning guide Leonardo Padilla Sacha with the help of native English-speaking tutors, is held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays at Hailey’s Town Center West.
“The Hailey Public Library has been offering English language classes since 2021 and we continue to see strong demand,” said Kristin Fletcher, the library’s programs and engagement manager. “We offer opportunities for all learning levels, from the bare basics of ‘Hello, my name is’ up to finer points of conversation that help folks learn the complex nuances of English. Just imagine how challenging it is to learn the differences between ‘there,’ ‘their’ and ‘they’re’—all of which are pronounced the same!”
