Get ready for snowballs to fly around The Argyros when the Wood River Orchestra presents its annual Holiday Concert and Fundraiser.

The orchestra under the direction of Brad Hershey will perform a cornucopia of festive holiday tunes that even kids will thrill to at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Doors will open at 3 p.m. for complimentary Christmas cookies baked by orchestra members. Concertgoers will also have the chance to view and bid on a variety of unique arts and crafts, with sales going to help fund the orchestra’s season.

“We had such a fantastic community response to this event last year. The audience had a lot of fun, especially during the snowball fight! And our conductor Brad was on fine form, entertaining everyone with anecdotes throughout," said Andy Moffat, an orchestra board member. "The musicians had a lot of fun too, and there were smiling faces all around the stage. We’re really excited for a repeat performance this year, and we’re very grateful to the Argyros for all their support with the arrangements. We’re also very grateful for the support of our event sponsor Rixon and Cronin Luxury Real Estate who have made a big difference.”

Admission to the concert is free, but concertgoers are asked to make reservations at https://www.theargyros.org/calendar/wood-river-orchestra-winter-concert so the orchestra can keep track of the numbers. The orchestra has also offered a limited number of cabaret tables for $250.

Feel lucky? The orchestra is holding a raffle to win a night’s stay at Ketchum’s Limelight Hotel, complete with access to the pool, an opportunity to kick back and relax to live music in the lounge and a lavish breakfast spread the morning after. Tickets cost $10 each with the money raised going to purchase sheet music, refurbish instruments, rent performance facilities and pay for the conductor.
