Learn about the state of youth mental well-being in the Wood River Valley during the Wood River Women’s Foundation’s 6th Annual State of the Valley.
The free event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
Those working with young people in the community will discuss efforts to build a new ecosystem of care to support the youth’s mental well-being. They also will discuss recent data gathered from local high school students through surveys and models of care such as the Icelandic Prevention Model.
The discussion will be moderated by Tyler Norris, chair of Blaine County’s Mental Well-Being Initiative. Norris, a social entrepreneur and advisor to philanthropies and government agencies working to improve people’s well-being, has shaped health initiatives in hundreds of communities around the world.
He is co-founder and director of the CEO Alliance for Mental Health and senior advisor to the St. Luke’s Health System, Mental Health America and the Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative. He is also a founding board member of Mindful Philanthropy and on the board of the National Academics of Sciences’ Forum for Children’s Well Being.
Others taking part in the discussion are Sarah Seppa, director of Community Engagement and manager of St. Luke’s Wood River Center for Community Health; Megan Tanous, chief development officer at St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation, and Tod Gunter, a social worker at Hailey Elementary School.
