Melting snow and temperatures in the 40s—there can be no doubt that spring is on its way.
And the Caritas Chorale is ready to celebrate with its Spring Concert titled “Everybody Sing.”
The Chorale will offer two free concerts—one at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and the other at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2. Both will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Sun Valley Road.
Concert selections include: “At the River” adapted by Aaron Copland and arranged by R. Wilding White. It also will feature “His Voice as the Song” arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw; “Shenandoah,” a folk song said to have originated with fur traders traveling down the Missouri River that is arranged by James Erb, and “Ching-A-Ring-Chaw,” adapted by Aaron Copland and arranged by Irving Fine.
“My God is a Rock,” a spiritual arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, completes the program.
Caritas Chorale is a nonprofit community chorus that welcomes singers regardless of previous experience. They perform at Christmas events, the Memorial Day ceremony and the Fourth of July Parade, among more formal chorale concerts.
And last Halloween they even performed a fun Casper the Friendly Ghost-approved concert titled “Full of Tricks and Treats.”
