Need an espresso in the mountains?
Galena Lodge opens for the summer season on Friday, June 6.
The lodge will be open everyday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch served from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No reservations needed.
Thursday BBQs are back with live music from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Western-style BBQ includes tri tip, Idaho trout, pulled pork, Smoky beef burgers, smoked chicken and house made veggie burgers.
The lodge will offer mountain bike clinics in June and July with classes including “True Beginner,” “Intermediate Downhills and Corners,” “Women’s Never Ever” and “Cornering Fast and Smooth on Flat Corners.” Private solo and small group lessons are also available, and the lodge offers bike rentals.
Week-long Galena Youth Adventure Camps will be offered all summer long. The camps, which are geared towards 6- to 8-year-olds and 8- to 12-year-olds, include mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding and whitewater rafting. Need-based scholarships are available.
The popular Galena Grinder mountain bike race will be held July 12. It’s open to men, women, youth and adaptive cyclists. Bikers may choose between 1.5-mile, 7.5-mile, 10-mile, 25-mile and 50-mile options.
