Far+Wise has received a $250,000 Workforce Development Council grant for its Cimino Center for Career Exploration.

The grant is a reimbursement grant that can be used over two years.

It will, in part, support pre-apprenticeships and internships so that local businesses teaching youngsters the ropes will benefit, as well as the students, said Laura Rose-Lewis, executive director of Far+Wise.

“We will use funds to match employer pay for students in the apprenticeship programs,” she said. “This grant will be instrumental in allowing us to continue to forge ahead with expanding the possibilities of our Career Exploration program.”

The Cimino Center for Career Exploration, which started three years ago, has introduced Blaine County youth to career options in such fields as aviation, hospitality, the ski industry, construction and law enforcement.

Summer registration is now open for camps in the culinary field, manufacturing, carpentry, public service and safety (police and firefighting fields), childcare and pediatric CPR . Learn more at https://www.ccefarandwise.org/experiences.
