The Nicole Christensen Band, a longtime valley favorite from Eagle, will perform at the free Jazz in the Park series Sunday, July 20.

Vocalist Nicole, her partner Ben Burdick on guitar and their band, will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ketchum’s Rotary Park, Warm Springs and Saddle roads.

Concertgoers are invited to bring low back chairs and picnics.

Christensen performs jazz standards in a warm alto voice.  She got her start as a singer in high school singing in a choir. As people heard her, they began inviting her to perform at weddings and other special events.

In addition to singing, she dabbles in acrylic and watercolor paintings, sharing her talent at  a music and art camp for children in Cascade.

***Tom Conneely and Birds of Paradise will serve up country-tinged rock from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the free Ketch’em Alive in Ketchum’s Forest Service Park.

***Wicked Spud will provide free tunes on Wednesday, July 23. And Sun Valley Resort will kick off its River Run Summer Series with live music from Prairie Blue and lawn games from 5 to 8 p.m. that night at the River Run Plaza.

***Come Thursday, July 24, join the crowd at Hop Porter park for Hailey Rocks’ concert featuring Olivia and the Lovers, a queer cowboy band from Chicago. The concert of folks, blues and cowboy tunes, will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and will support the Bloom Community Food Center.

***Up in Ketchum Cowboy Ramen will serve up a dose of Adam Williams from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Hotel Ketchum’s sheep-themed Pasture on Thursday, July 24.
