The Trailing of the Sheep Festival has been nominated by USA TODAY for Best Fall Festival as part of USA TODAY 10BEST’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Now the festival, which is certainly no stranger to these types of honors, needs your help.

USA TODAY 10BEST readers are allowed to vote on their favorites once a day until ballots close at 11:59 a.m. Monay, Sept. 8. A person may vote online once a day.

“We are so excited that the Trailing of the Sheep Festival, now in its 29th year, was once again nominated for this honor, and we ask that all of our friends and fans go online to vote for us,” said Laura Musbach Drake, Trailing of the Sheep Festival’s Executive Director.

The festival was one of 20 nominees selected by a panel of travel experts. It is running against such festivals as the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, Jack Pine Glass Pumpkin Festival, Silver Lake Sand Dunes Apple and BBQ Festival and Verona Fall Fest.

The Trailing of the Sheep Festival is looking for volunteers to join the flock. The festival relies on 200 volunteers to man headquarters, the Sheep Folklife Fair, Sheepdog Trials and more.
