Members of the Wood River Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society are among those who will help plant 3,000 sagebrush seedlings at the Rock Creek Ranch on Saturday.
Idaho Fish and Game is providing the seedlings to boost wildfire recovery following the Glendale Fire that spread into the Rock Creek area during the Labor Day holiday in 2024.
Volunteers are needed to plant the seedlings form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. Volunteers will meet at the Rock Creek Ranch Cow Camp, then fan out from there.
To get there, take Croy Creek Road west from Hailey to Rock Creek Road. Head south on Rock Creek Road for four miles to Cow Camp.
Volunteer are asked to wear long pants, closed toed shoes and work gloves if they have them.

Seventeen enthusiastic volunteers, including members of the local chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society, gathered at the top of Bald Mountain recently to collect native weeds from lupine, penstemon and buckwheat.
The seeds will be used for future vegetation efforts on Bald Mountain as Sun Valley Resort seeks to promote forest health and biodiversity.
