Four local poets will bring their wit and wisdom to the Bellevue Public Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13. The library is located at 117 E. Pine St. next to Bellevue City Hall.

Kristin Fletcher wrote her first poem for a class assignment. Upon seeing it, her eighth-grade teacher encouraged her to write more and Fletcher is still writing away. Her poems have even been published in the poetry series, “Pocatello Blend.”

Tony Evans, a local author who recently published his memoir, Believing in Indians, says that to this day he, “wants to be a poet when he grows up.”

John Fox was born and raised in the Wood River Valley. He is a bike mechanic by trade and a poet by disposition, gifting his poetry with insightfulness and a sly sense of humor.

Florence Blanchard has been writing poetry off and on since high school. Her poetry often reflects the ironies of life in her small corner of the universe. Her poetry has been published in the Limberlost Review.

Blanchard founded the Free Range Poetry Society, to remind the Wood River Valley community of the power and importance of poetry.

“Talented poets live here in the valley and I wanted to support them,” she said.

The event is free, and authors will discuss their work with the audience following their readings.
