STORY BY KAREN BOSSICK

PHOTOS BY JOHN BOYDSTON

After a dazzling red sky, the aurora borealis that lit up the skies over Sun Valley last week took on more of a green and purple hue.

Sun Valley photographer John Boydston caught these pictures about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from a site in Elkhorn.

Eye on Sun Valley is running them as a follow-up to Boydston’s other photographs, which were published on Nov. 13.

It’s not just the auroras that have caught the attention of Wood River Valley residents over the past two weeks. Many have remarked on the stunning sunsets they’ve seen from all over the valley.

We guess that if you can’t have snow you can revel in pretty skies.
