STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Scratch that Coffee Talk with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The action-movie actor will appear in a Cocktail Talk, instead.

The Sun Valley Film Festival has switched the Coffee Talk that Schwarzenegger was scheduled to talk at from 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, to 8 p.m. Saturday. The talk will remain free and it will be held at The Argyros in Ketchum, which has long served as the site of the Festival’s popular Coffee Talks.

The switch will presumably allow Schwarzenegger to either sleep in or catch a few morning ski runs on Sun Valley Resort’s Bald Mountain.

Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-born actor and seven-time Mr. Olympia champion, is receiving the Vision Award given to individuals who have provided the insight, influence and initiative to fulfill a creative vision.

Also receiving a 2025 Vision Award is Gus Van Sant, whose filmmaking credits include “Good Will Hunting.”

Van Sant will take part in a free Coffee Talk at 10 a.m. today—Friday, Dec. 5—at The Argyros. And his newest film, “Dead Man’s Wire,” based on the true story of a modern-day outlaw, will be shown at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at The Argyros. A Q&A with Van Sant will follow the screening.

Sunday’s Coffee Talk—at 10 a.m. at The Argyros—will feature filmmaker Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar, who filmed the Academy Award-nominee “Sing Sing.” They are receiving Deadline’s Disruptor Award, recognizing individuals who are shaping the film industry with innovative, impactful work.
