Let Baldy Challenge Take You Where You’ve Never Been

Chances are pretty darn good that you’ve skied Mid-River Run. But have you skied the new Sheep Camp skier’s left of Olympic Lane?

Challenge yourself to ski everyone of Baldy’s runs. And benefit The Advocates at the same time.

PK’s Baldy Challenge 2026 returns this February to benefit The Advocates.

The event encourages skiers to explore new terrain on Bald Mountain, while raising awareness and funding for local nonprofits.

It’s pretty simple, really.

Check off the runs you ski during the month of February on a card listing the runs on Sun Valley Resort’s Bald Mountain. Turn your card in by March 1.

Then sit back and see if you are the proud winner of a prize ranging from a 2026-27 Sun Valley ski pass to a choice of 2026-27 K2 skis from PK’s. Other prizes include a staycation with dinner for two at the Knob Hill Inn, complete auto detail from SV Auto, Summer 2026 golf certificates for Bigwood Golf Course and a 2026–27 Blaine County Nordic Pass.

Did we say you can purchase mulligans to mark off runs you didn’t ski?

Baldy boasted 98 runs in 2020. Of course, Sun Valley has opened up more since. So, if you took part in the challenge six years ago, you have new runs to acquaint yourself with.

Closing ceremonies, complete with light bites, will be held at the Limelight Hotel on March 2.

Beginning in February, skiers secure a run card and track their progress on designated open runs throughout the month. The Challenge is designed as an accessible, community-minded way to support essential local services while enjoying the mountain.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

Pick up a run card at PK’s in Ketchum on Leadville Avenue or at Apple’s in Warm Springs. Baldy cards cost $40; Dollar Mountain Challenge cards are $20.

Ski only open runs on Baldy or Dollar during February, recording the date for each run completed.

Return your card to PK’s or Apple’s by March 1—even if you haven’t skied every run. Turning in a card is required to be eligible for prizes; winners need not be present to claim awards. Participants who ski all the runs listed on the card (or who purchase $40 Mulligans to mark off four runs by writing “M” in place of the date) advance to the Top Tier prize drawing.

Join other Baldy Challenge contestants at the Closing Ceremonies at the Limelight Hotel on March 2. The event will feature light bites, beverages and prize drawings.
