STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK
In 1977 a 23-year-old street artist from Delhi mounted a second-hand bicycle and set off on a 6,000-mile journey across continents to reunite with the woman he loved.
That story is recounted in “The Cycle of Love,” a 2025 documentary directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel. Von Eisiedel is a retired professional snowboarder and British filmmaker who specializes in documentary films that investigate global social issues.
The Sun Valley Film Festival will offer an advance screening of the film, which includes P.K. Mahanandia’s sketches and drawings, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at The Argyros in Ketchum. Co-Executive producer Chris Albert will take part in a Q&A following the screening.
The epic love story contained in “The Cycle of Love” began as an act of devotion and became the foundation of a partnership that would last a lifetime. The movie reflects on love, distance and memory as it traces a relationship shaped over decades. It also captures the courage required to follow the heart.
The film won the Artemis Rising Foundation Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival held this past fall.
The screening is part of the Sun valley Film Festival’s year-round Monthly Movies programming series. Tickets are free for SVFF members and $20 for the public, available at the door.
