The community is invited to sprint, jog, dance, walk or stroll their way through a 3.1-mile course while getting showered with powder paint. There’ll be music and cheering round every corner and local food trucks, community vendors, kid’s activities and music by DJ Marlin at the end. And runners and walkers are entreated to wear costumes, tutus and team shirts to add to the color. “The Color Me Fearless 5K is one of our favorite days of the year because it brings the entire community together in such a joyful and uplifting way,” said Teressa Johnson, the local Girls on the Run executive director. “It’s colorful, energetic, meaningful, and full of heart. Every registration helps ensure local girls have access to life-changing programs that build confidence, connection, and strength.” Indeed, the 5K fun run and walk helps raise funds for Girls on the Run scholarships and shoes to ensure every girl who wants to can participate in the program regardless of financial circumstances.
