Actor and writer Neil Brookshire, who recently played Mr. Darcy in “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,” will treat fans to a free reading of his play-in-progress at 4 tonight—Friday, Jan. 3—at Ketchum’s Community Library.
Brookshire was doing research for an acting part when he contacted a friend to discuss his military experiences and how life before and after war differed.
Brookshire became so interested in what Colin had to say that he developed a one-person play based on many of his friend’s stories from his time as a medic in the Army. The play, which he titled “War Changes Everything,” explores how a new normal takes hold of those in combat and, by extension, everyone around them.
Brookshire is the founder of Dirt Hills Productions, which produces short films and audio material.
