When Ed Cannady retired in March 2019 he wasted no time in setting off to explore new mountains and landscapes.

The former wilderness manager for the Sawtooth National Recreation Area will share some of the photographs and experiences of that three-month solo journey in the “Canadian Rockies at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Hailey Public Library.

You may have seen many of Cannady’s photographs already, as they’re displayed at MESH Gallery in Ketchum.

“Ed’s photographs are magnificent and he is a thoughtful observer of wild places,” said the library’s adult education coordinator Kristin Fletcher.
