District 26 Incumbents Sweep Election

Dist. 26 Sen. Michelle Stennett-D defeated her Republican challenger Eric Parker Tuesday. in a race that received national attention from NPR and others because of Parker’s militia ties.

Dist. Rep. Muffy Davis-D retained her seat, running unchallenged.

Dist. 26 Rep. Sally Toone-D., retained her seat, running against William Thorpe of Bliss.

Blaine County Commissioner Jacob Greenberg turned away challenger Kiki Tidwell, And Tammy E. Davis, Gregory Cappel and Doug Brown retained their alderman seats in Bellevue.

Longtime U.S. Sen. Jim Risch-R easily beat Paulette Jordan, the Democrat candidate.

    Eric Parker-R 8,253 votes--41.5 percent

    Michelle Stennett-D 11,636 votes—58.5 percent

  • Legislative District 26, State Representative A

    Muffy Davis-D 14,954 votes—100 percent

  • Legislative District 26, State Representative B

    William Thorpe-R 8,571 votes—43.2 percent

    Sally Toone-D 11,267 votes—56.8 percent

    • County Commissioner Second District

      Jacob Greenberg-D 9,069—72.01 percent

C. Aaron Swisher-D 99,804--34.42 percent

 As for the Presidency? It's a nail bitter with Vice President Joe Biden claiming 238 electoral votes to President Trump's 213 and all eyes on Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia.

In Blaine County, however, Biden won 8,919 votes, or 67.12 percent. Trump won 4,031 votes, of 30.34 percent in a race that featured seven candidates, including Kanye West, who got 53 votes.

Paulette Jordan also carried Blaine County in the Senate race with 8,739 votes, or 65.68 percent, to Jim Risch's 4,225 votes, or 31.75 percent. And Aaron Swisher got 7,703 votes, or 58.54 percent, to Mike Simpson's 5,025, or 38.19 percent.
