You don’t even have to wear a mask if you don’t want to!
The discussion will revolve around the March 31, 2020, earthquake centered several miles northwest of Stanley. The 6.5 magnitude earthquake was felt as far away as Calgary, Alberta, Canada. And it has been followed by hundreds of aftershocks—some exceeding 4.0 magnitude.
The spring and summer quakes have rearranged some of the landscape in the Sawtooth Mountains, knocking over the iconic Arrowhead rock and the 120-foot Baron Spire near Grandjean. They also collapsed the inlet at Stanley Lake, flooding the new trail and boardwalk there.
Hikers this summer also found a number of slides on trails in the Sawtooth Mountains.
