The Sun Valley Road pathway is about to get pulverized as the City of Sun Valley embarks on its fourth year of construction as part of the Sun Valley Road and Path Bond Program.
The pathway will get pulverized on Thursday, May 20, from Festival Meadows to the intersection at Saddle and Sun Valley roads. The path will be closed each day during construction and should reopen each evening with a gravel surface.
Once the pulverization and grading are done, the surface will be resurfaced. Workers hope to reopen the path completely by Tuesday, May 26.
On May 21, the pulverizer will move to the Fairway Loop with that road surface expected to be repaved by May 28. During that time one lane of travel will remain open at all times. The surface will be smoothed up and drivable each evening.
On May 24 the pulverizer is expected to move to the City Hall intersection with construction beginning at the intersection and parking lot at City Hall. That will be a month-long project as the intersection is aligned and improved.
One lane will remain open at all times and both lanes will be reopened each night.
Recycling at City Hall will be suspended this summer during the work at Old Dollar Road and Elkhorn Road.
