The Sawtooth Botanical Garden will kick off its 17th year of wildflower walks on Thursday, May 27, with a visit to the Camas Prairie to take in the birds and the blue camas bloom. The camas just began blooming there this past week.
Walkers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the botanical garden at Highway 75 and Gimlet Road south of Ketchum.
Walks will be held most Thursdays through July 29.
Wildflower enthusiasts will head to Craters of the Moon on June 10 and Greenhorn Gulch on June 17.
The days of June 24, July 8, July 15, July 22 and July 29 will be assigned destinations closer to the date based on where the flowers are blooming.
Participants will meet at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, four miles south of Ketchum on Highway 75, and proceed to trailheads from there.
Children under 14 are welcome, provided they are with an adult. Leave Fido home on the couch.
