Wood River Valley residents are invited to come together to remember those who have passed at 11 a.m. today—Monday, May 31—at the Ketchum Cemetery.
The American Legion declined to host its traditional Memorial Day ceremony this year, but many valley residents feel the need to honor those who have died from COVID and other causes, as well as military veterans.
“It’s going to be a very, very different Memorial Day gathering at the cemetery than in past years,” said Gary and Connie Hoffman. “For one thing the focus is on ALL LOSSES, including the COVID War, and not just military loses from previous decades.”
The ceremony will be non-denominational, non-political and non-military in scope. There will be a loosely structured program involving short thoughts from leaders like Ketchum Mayor Neil Bradshaw, short poems and some music.
